For the next several days I will be posting about the World Congress of Families. This year it is being held in Sydney, Australia.  Remember how we helped to raise funds for Angela to attend? She is sending daily reports of the presentations, interviews she is able to have, and more. I am excited to share with you what she is experiencing. There are so many around the world - politicians, religious leaders, community organizers, trained professionals, and others - who are dedicated to defending the family. I will try to post each day's events in order so you are not reading them backwards as you scroll down. I have broken up Angela's summaries into several posts so it isn't overwhelming to see a HUGE post. Remember, if you have any questions you would like her to ask when she gives her interviews, leave them in the comments and I will pass them along to her.

Egg Nog French Toast

One of the surest signs that the holidays are really here is the presence of eggnog in the dairy aisle at the grocery store. We literally drink gallons and gallons before its gone for another year. This past week we decided to add it to the egg mixture for our french toast. It was heavenly!

Eggnog French Toast

4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup eggnog
1 tsp. vanilla
10 - 12 slices bread (we used wheat in the picture)

In a shallow pan mix the eggs, milk, eggnog, and vanilla. Beat well. Preheat a skillet or griddle to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease with butter. Dip each slice in the egg mixture making sure to coat both sides. Place on griddle and cook, turning once, until each side is golden brown. Serve hot with butter, syrup, or powdered sugar.

  1. Hmmm... seems, this is tasty. But here in Sweden, eggnog isn't popular. Hope I can get from London, though.

    TY for the tip.

    Have a nice week-end.

  6. Mmmm sounds yummy! I don't think it would go in our house though...we're all peanut butter people, and I'm not sure those two flavors would go good together! But we love Egg Nog by itself!!!

  12. Cocoa,
Our Christmas morning tradition is eggnog german pancakes. Have you had them? A true eggnog lover like yourself would probably love them so I'll post them on my blog if you're interested.

Also, have you ever made your own? I have a recipe from my YW leader. (That tells you how long I've had the recipe). I've never tried it but kept the recipe because it sounded like a fun idea.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. ☺ There, don't you feel better?

Please leave a comment! I enjoy hearing your thoughts, whether you agree with me or not. If we all agreed on everything how boring would that be? Worse than eating white chocolate, because it's fake. So be real, be yourself.
