For the next several days I will be posting about the World Congress of Families. This year it is being held in Sydney, Australia.  Remember how we helped to raise funds for Angela to attend? She is sending daily reports of the presentations, interviews she is able to have, and more. I am excited to share with you what she is experiencing. There are so many around the world - politicians, religious leaders, community organizers, trained professionals, and others - who are dedicated to defending the family. I will try to post each day's events in order so you are not reading them backwards as you scroll down. I have broken up Angela's summaries into several posts so it isn't overwhelming to see a HUGE post. Remember, if you have any questions you would like her to ask when she gives her interviews, leave them in the comments and I will pass them along to her.

Forget Not

"There is something inspiring and sublime about the little forget-me-not flower. I hope it will be a symbol of the little things that make your lives joyful and sweet." ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf~

The General Relief Society meeting was wonderful! My favorite talk of the evening was Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf. Of course, I had to make a print** to remember to 'forget not.'

Do you want one too? Click on each to open in a new window. Then right click and save to your computer. They are high quality 8x10 prints.

You may notice the two bottom prints say the same thing but with different words. The first was taken as Pres. Uchtdorf spoke about each petal of the forget-me-not individually. The second comes from the end of his talk when he summarized each "forget not."

“I do know now I was never forgotten. And I know something else and as an apostle of our master Jesus Christ, I proclaim with all the certainty and conviction of my heart and soul, neither are you. You are not forgotten! Sisters, wherever you are, whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you with an infinite love. Just think of it! You are known and remembered by the most majestic, powerful and glorious Being in the universe. You are loved by the King of infinite space and everlasting time. He who created and knows the stars knows you and your name. You are the daughters of His kingdom!”
~Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf~

Did you miss the broadcast or want to watch it again? You can watch it here. Just make sure that under the video you choose General Relief Society Meeting.

**No, I didn't make a foolish sacrifice creating these! I was up feeding Ganache while everyone else was sleeping.

  1. Thank you for posting these beautiful posters. Last night I was actually asking Heavenly Father if, indeed, He did love me and hear my prayers. President Uchtdorf's message was exactly what I needed to hear. He is indeed an Apostle of the Lord.

  5. Those are beautiful printables. I am going to make use of your feeding time! :) We had three things all on the same night, same time...so I had to miss the RS broadcast. I am going to watch it today after church.

  7. While I was listening to his talk last night, I wondered how long it would take for some creative person to make a printable. You were faster than I guessed. I'm going to print one today.

This is the second recap of last night's talk that I read. It always impresses me how the Lord gives each of us what we need through the same talk if we listen.

  8. I was hoping some creative person (who is not me) would make something like this. Thank you! I'll be making one for myself, but also one for each of my visiting teaching ladies with a print-out of the talk. Many of them are older (and homebound) or don't come to church very often. I know this will mean a lot to them. It was a wonderful talk.

  9. I loved this talk too. I always doodle during broadcasts and my page is covered by little forget me not flowers along with the 5 things not to forget. Pres. Uchtdorf is always such a great speaker. He uses an image, like that tiny flower, to illustrate his points so well. I will never look at those little blue flowers the same.

  13. Oh thank you so much Cocoa, I was trying to think of a way to bring this to my visiting teaching sisters, but as I'm not crafty I was coming up with impossible ideas. Then you came to the rescue!

    LOVE them.

  14. Beautiful!
I have a request. Can you post some sort of tutorial on how to make prints like this?
While sitting in the Conference Center last night and listening to Pres. Uchtdorf's talk, I got this amazing idea of a reminder/decoration of his "Forget Nots" and that I need to make them for my sisters in law. If I could make some personalized 3X3 in. prints like this, it would be perfect...but I don't know how so I'll have to resort to scrapbook paper and handwriting with no embellishments otherwise. Can you guide me (and clueless ones like me) please?

  15. I loved his talk. Because of different circumstances I ended up watching the broadcast from home with my 4 boys running around me, but I was able to really focus in on this talk and loved it. Can't wait to read it.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. ☺ There, don't you feel better?

Please leave a comment! I enjoy hearing your thoughts, whether you agree with me or not. If we all agreed on everything how boring would that be? Worse than eating white chocolate, because it's fake. So be real, be yourself.
