17 years 23 days

That's how old I was when I got married.
Wedding Pic 01

Boy, {I} was young!

Yesterday I marked the milestone of being married for 17 years and 23 days.

  2. Does it blow your mind at all now when you think of your own daughter being 15? 17 is so so young! Congrats on finding happiness.

    1. Our oldest turned sixteen the end of October. The three oldest are usually saying something like "If Bon Bon were you she'd be at college right now." Bon Bon just says "Thank goodness I'm not!" She definitely knows her own path and it doesn't follow mom's - at least in timing. :)

  3. So very sweet...and you just look entirely virtuous in that wedding photo. I love it! Congratulations!

  4. How wonderful for you both. You know, he's a really lucky guy! I hope he remembers that. I am amazed your mother was all for a wedding at just past 17 years old. I had to present an entire case before my parents to wed prior to my college graduation (by one measly semester)! And I was 22 (and six months).

  6. Awww! So adorable! You beat me, and I was young, too. (2 weeks before I turned 18) I look back and think "What was I thinking?!" and then I look at my sweet husband, and all of our beautiful children, and I think "I wouldn't change a thing!" :-)

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  10. PS. I was a little older than you at marriage (18.5). I find it absolutely AWESOME that so many young kids have the strength and courage to make such an important commitment!

    PPS. How old was he?

  11. I wasn't much older.... just 18. People just don't realize we've been married as long as we have because it took us 7 years to have our Danielle. The world tried to convince me I was too young to make such a decision about someone I only had met 3 months earlier (and I probably was), but thankfully it's a decision I'll not only never regret, but be eternally grateful that I had listened to my heart. Congratulations!

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. ☺ There, don't you feel better?

Please leave a comment! I enjoy hearing your thoughts, whether you agree with me or not. If we all agreed on everything how boring would that be? Worse than eating white chocolate, because it's fake. So be real, be yourself.

I do have to put comment moderation on at times, especially when a post seems to be "controversial" but it is my blog and I do have the right to filter the comments. I don't mind if you disagree but I do care about common courtesy and decency. No name calling or hostile comments will be allowed.
