Flying High

On Saturday I had the unexpected opportunity to ride in a small airplane over our valley. I am terrified of heights but surprisingly was not afraid to fly in this tiny little thing. It was a lot of fun! My only remorse is I forgot to get a picture of my four younger children (Special Dark up to Truffle) who were sitting in the back seat flying with me. How did I forget to do that?

Remember the wildfire we had back in October? Here's a view of some of what was burned.

  1. ha ha, this post makes me chuckle, because Steve wanted to give me an airplane flight as a gift ( I think I mentioned that) where I would get to fly...but I turned it down...same reason! That looks awesome though...maybe I'll rethink!

  2. We did a helicopter ride with dh uncle, it was pretty awesome. BUT, because heights terrify me, and there were windows in the BOTTOM...I didn't go. Pity.

You really do live in the middle of nowhere don't you?! :) Dh asked me if I could do it...and I would LOVE that!

BTW, your post on the Rowdy Strowdies (sp?) was great. We are starting gratitude journals this year (because of pres. Eyrings talk) and I am excited to see if I can grow to love even housework! :) (that make take a few years though...)

  3. I seriously don't think I could take a ride in a small plane. I barely survive flying in a big plane. I did love the pictures.

  5. When we started dating, my (now) husband was learning to fly. We spent many a date tooling around north Louisiana's air space letting him rack up hours. In retrospect, I don't know that I'd want my daughter in the plane with some 21 year old who'd just earned his license! Ahhh, the joys of dumb youth!

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. ☺ There, don't you feel better?

Please leave a comment! I enjoy hearing your thoughts, whether you agree with me or not. If we all agreed on everything how boring would that be? Worse than eating white chocolate, because it's fake. So be real, be yourself.

I do have to put comment moderation on at times, especially when a post seems to be "controversial" but it is my blog and I do have the right to filter the comments. I don't mind if you disagree but I do care about common courtesy and decency. No name calling or hostile comments will be allowed.
