For the next several days I will be posting about the World Congress of Families. This year it is being held in Sydney, Australia.  Remember how we helped to raise funds for Angela to attend? She is sending daily reports of the presentations, interviews she is able to have, and more. I am excited to share with you what she is experiencing. There are so many around the world - politicians, religious leaders, community organizers, trained professionals, and others - who are dedicated to defending the family. I will try to post each day's events in order so you are not reading them backwards as you scroll down. I have broken up Angela's summaries into several posts so it isn't overwhelming to see a HUGE post. Remember, if you have any questions you would like her to ask when she gives her interviews, leave them in the comments and I will pass them along to her.

Hello July

Summer is here is full swing! For us that means work, work and more work. Farmers make most of their money in the summer. There is little time for vacations but there is time for a few fun things here and there.

I've decided the only actual scheduled posts for this month will be the homeschool curriculum ones. I also have the 1920s apron tutorial ready to go! Any other posts that pop up will be surprises - to both you and me.

In other news . . .

Hershey is in the process of being potty-trained. She is one of two kids who have been very stubborn about the whole thing. Finally, this past week she has improved dramatically and actually prefers to wear her underwear rather than a diaper. You would think I would have it down by now.

teaching her how to blow dandelions

I also taught Hershey how to blow dandelions. She is hilarious to watch because she crawls on all fours up to the dandelion growling the whole way {like a lion} then pounces on it, picks it, and blows her little lungs out.

We did our annual cleaning of the garage. It didn't take near as long as I thought it would {which was why I was putting it off for so long}. It's nice to know we haven't accumulated as much junk as I thought we had. In fact most of the stuff was just things that hadn't been put back in their proper spots.

Have you tried fried pickles? Bon Bon watched a show on the cooking channel and decided to try some. YUM!! I love dill pickles the best but Mr. Ferrero Rocher prefers the bread 'n' butter ones.

  1. I am so glad to hear you haven't figured it out yet when it comes to toilet training. Irish Jig is so stubborn! She saw the picture of Hershey and we talked about underwear. She seems interested because some one else her age is also making the transition. Let's hope it works!

    1. Last week Hershey couldn't go a day without wetting at least twice. She has been dry since Sunday. That includes night time too. I think it has finally clicked!

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. ☺ There, don't you feel better?

Please leave a comment! I enjoy hearing your thoughts, whether you agree with me or not. If we all agreed on everything how boring would that be? Worse than eating white chocolate, because it's fake. So be real, be yourself.
